SHS Photo Challenge 29

So happy to be sleeping in my own bed tonight after 3 weeks of house sitting . . . there's no place like home.  My kitty will be happy, too.
This weeks clues were Shadow, Keys, Smile, Unedited (SOOC), and Fish.
Here we go . . .

1.  Shadow
Two shadows for this one . . . different coloured lights on the ceiling produced two different coloured shadows.

 2.  Keys
Big heavy set of iron keys from a friend  . . . keys to the kingdom.

3.  Smile
Capturing feathered friends always puts a smile on my face . . . this one had a very unique call.  I have spent a little time trying to identify it and I believe it to be a "Spotted Towhee".

4.  Unedited (SOOC)
Kerria Japonica, flowering shrub . . . love the highlights on the petals and the sweet bokeh.

5.  Fish
Fish pillows at the home where I was house-sitting.

  2. I bet you are glad to be home! I really like the old keys. Love all the rust on them. I agree that the bird appears to be a Towhee. We had baby Towhees last spring. Mom looked just like that.

  8. I'm with Stasha! I love the things you find to share with us! The fish pillows are so unusual! so real!
You have really captured my favourite things! Bird cages; Though there is a sweet meloncholy about a bird kept captive amd safe from harm, it is the sweet song that so beautifully haunts me... an empty cage or one with the door open and the bird sitting atop always makes me smile. Our cockatiel lives on my shoulder happily or among the broccoli plants when I work the garden each summer...
Keys to the Kingdom... love it! and old keys like this is what Shoshi still uses in South Africa for homes and sheds...
I believe you are right about the spotted towhee... I also love them and smile with you!
Your Kerria Japonica is the most amazing colour... from your garden or your favourite park?
had fun walking with you today dear friend
    smiling with you

  18. Really hard to pick a favorite here!!!! All of them are so good, really! Since I have a thing for keys, of course I started drooling over those. But I also loved the shadows! Shadows always "speak" in their own subtle ways, don't they? I think you are right about your bird. We have "rufus sided tohees" here in Florida and look just about like yours. I love them, although they are shy. At this time of year, they do come to the feeder -- I guess it makes feeding little ones more convenient when food is all in one place. Thanks for sharing these! I always love to see what you photo geeks find!
