Photo Art Friday - 4 October 2013

The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

This time around I am not going to detail my steps in producing these pieces . . .
just post and pepper with some appropriate quotes.  I had great fun and learned a few new techniques.
Hope you all enjoy these "Sky" themed images that I will be hanging in Bonnie's gallery for

Reflection on the Fraser River

Sunset Sky

Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add colour to my sunset sky.
~ Rabindranath Tagore

Sunset Clouds
The next three shots have a few things in common.  They were all taken on my way home from work last winter.  Lots of stop and go traffic so, no I was not driving distracted.  They also all feature power lines which are not always desirable in a photo but I think these are the exception.

Electric Raindrops

Peek-a-boo Moon

A snow day, literally and figuratively,
 falls from the sky, unbidden,
and seems like a thing of wonder.
~Susan Orlean

Snow Flurries

These last two are using a tiling filter I discovered in my software.
More accurately, I discovered how to use because previously I just didn't get it.
Pays to investigate those little drop-down boxes and play with all the options.

Foggy Tree Line

In nature, everything has a job.
The job of the fog is to beautify further the existing beauties.

  2. What gorgeous edits and photos!

  3. What a wonderful gallery of art pieces. Each one is so different. My favorites were: Reflection of Fraser River, Sunset Sky and Snow Flurries. Well done. Love that we both use that quote.

  4. Your processing of these shots is really, really inspiring! It's art!

  5. o wow, you ahve been busy. :) So many great images produced. :)

Thanks a lot for the kind comment on my African Sunrise

  6. Sunset and Clouds - great detail and colour! The effects you used on the foggy images also appeal to my "square" side. Totally agree with Katarina that your work is definitely art.

  7. I am totally impressed with your capacity to make all things beautiful... so much like our Father's heart and desire for all our lives.

  8. I love what you've done with these, Andrea! Very artistic and inspiring!

  9. Andrea, your photos are all wonderful. Each photo is so diverse...............wonderfully done!

  10. That was beautiful - all of them - wonderful!

  11. you have some fabulous shots here and the 'Sunset Clouds' completely caught my eye on Bonnies linky board~!!~ absolutely beautiful~!!!~

  12. Be still my heart! These are such creative, artistic edits, Andrea. Love the Peek-a-boo Moon, and the Sunset Clouds, but my real fav is the last one, Misty Morning Golf Course. It looks like an expressionist painting.

  13. These are gorgeous images, Andrea. The Fraser River shot is like a Monet watercolor - love the shades of blue, grey and white.

  14. How creative you are,- wonderful edit to them all! My favorites are the first and the last one!

  15. Hi Andrea, Thanks for visiting. Your photos are beautiful and it looks like you had fun working with them. "The job of fog is to further beautify the existing beauties" -- so true!
