Time for another Photo Art Friday. This month's theme is "Embrace".
But first, a little vocabulary lesson.
embrace:
/im'breis, em/
verb
1. hold (someone) closely in one's arms, especially as a sign of affection
synonyms: hug, hold, cuddle, squeeze, clasp
2. accept (a belief, theory or change) willingly and enthusiastically
synonyms: welcome, accept, take to one's heart
My mother embracing my first born son and her new role as grandmother.
Oh how she delighted in her grandchildren.
Cuddling with her 4 year old granddaughter just 2 months before she passed away.
I am so thankful that I have photos that capture the love and affection she had for her grandchildren. This month marked 29 years without her dear presence and influence in our lives and family get-togethers.
(Some things are more difficult to embrace than others.)
Miss you, Mama.
See you later.
These are great! Hope you're well!
ReplyDeleteputs a twist on 'our lives' and whether these same emotions will well up in our kids hearts one day...
ReplyDeleteno matter how old I get, I still miss my moms and dad~
It helps to 'embrace' these wonderful memories. Heaven will be filled with many more!
How touching/meaningful/precious, Andrea! There are several ways to find examples of the word 'embrace' in your beautiful photo art. Some things are hard to embrace as you say - but such a treasure when we find our way to do so. Such a lovely tribute to your mother and her love for her grandchildren.
ReplyDeletePrecious Memories indeed. What a wonderful tribute to your mom.
ReplyDeleteWell said, Andrea. We have our memories, and that is a blessing, but the pictures are comforting too. Lovely editing on these. Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI feel many emotions through these images and words.
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching post. Such beautiful pictures and memories. Love the processing, too!
ReplyDeleteI knew your mother just briefly but remember her as a lovely, gracious woman. These are precious photos. The love comes through the poses and expressions, but also through your sensitive editing.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. So sweet to see your mother with the children.
