April In Its Infancy

Now infant April joins the spring,
and views the water sky . . .

Till blossoms open one by one,
And sunny hours beguile.
~ John Clare

Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~ Thomas Blackburn, "An Easter Hymn"

I so enjoyed flinging off my jacket and hoodie these last few days.
This glorious Easter week has been sunny and warm and coaxed multitudes of blossoms out of their tight winter wraps.  A short walk down the lane this morning had me snapping away and sighing over all this beauty.

Hurray for spring . . . my favourite time of year!

  2. Stunning photos of really stunning blossoms. Hasn't this been the most glorious Easter weather? I have my eye on a magnolia tree down the street - its blooms are opening at an almost visible speed.
