Grace Notes - Counting the Gifts 712-723

Thou hast given so much to me, give one thing more . . . a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me, as if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.
~ George Herbert

  1. There are many hard thanksgivings here, but interspersed throughout the easy that one hardly notices the angst behind them. Your opening quote says it all,

    "Not thankful when it pleases me,..." Yes, thankful at all times--naturally, as our pulse is.

    I love the grandchildren's pictures! Lots of color, like their grandmother's photos!

    Happy being by here,
    Dawn

  2. what a wonderful gathering of dear friends and to think that we meet to give thanks and to share all this together... a community of praise to the One who is worthy of all glory and honour. He does marvelous things for us. Up at five to move a foot of this night's fresh snow so we can have my man off by seven. I am thankful for the beauty and friendship and strength God brings...chores all done, milk put away, time to draw and to be in prayer for the beloveds around the world... God is so good!

    I also loved the children's art, Andrea Dawn! My smile is big! Thanks for sharing your friends and fun and even the difficulties with us... you are in my prayers dear friend.

  4. Beautiful words and such treasured photos especially the ones the grandchildren drew. I wish I had photographed the works of art my boys used to make for me all those years ago.
