Follow the Sun - Flower Art Friday

Just gonna let these speak for themselves . . . enjoy!

"I don't think there's anything on this planet that more trumpets life than the sunflower.  For me that's because of the reason behind its name.  Not because it looks like the sun, but because it follows the sun.  During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky.  A satellite dish for sunshine.  Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that's such an admirable thing.  And such a lesson in life."
~ from the movie Calendar Girls (2003)

  3. Dearest Andrea Dawn,

You have truly brought this flower to life in my heart. Your artistic giftings painstakingly developed this beautiful set of pictures which highlight the magnificence of this "satellite dish" of nature. I am in awe.

    Thank you,

  5. someone who also admires the sunflower, a simple 'peon', here in Mexico, has created a sidewalk down our mountain with the intricate design of the sunflower. Now today to see this post is such a treat as it is indeed one of my favourites in the Lord's flower garden.
I love also your reference to following the light and this is the same thrill as seeing a child of the King turning their heart towards the Light. It will always thrill the soul of the children of the King.
Thank you Andrea for sharing this beauty again and again.
